Therapeutic Benefits of the Earth Gong
Grounding and Nervous System Regulation: The low-frequency tones are designed to ground the listener, helping to reduce sympathetic nervous system overdrive ("fight-or-flight") and activate the parasympathetic nervous system ("rest-and-digest").
Stress and Trauma Release: The vibrations work directly on cellular memory, assisting in clearing stuck emotional energy patterns that cause inner turmoil. It is used to help clients process stored emotional stress without verbalizing it.
Physical Relaxation and Possible Pain Relief: The sound waves provide a "cellular massage," which can help lower cortisol levels and reduce physical tension.
Deepened Therapeutic Work: Because the vibrations can override the "thinking mind," it is used to enhance therapeutic interventions, allowing for greater client introspection and access to subconscious emotions.
Deep Relaxation: Gong sounds can transition people from an alert state (beta) to a deep meditative state (theta) quickly, sometimes within seconds.
Safety: While generally safe, individuals with epilepsy, severe sound sensitivities, or in early pregnancy should consult a doctor first.
Session Structure A typical session might start with breathing exercises and check in to establish session focus and goals, followed by 30-45 minutes of the gong bath, and finally a period of silence for integration and grounding practice closing.
* Sessions take place at Ma Wellness and Yoga
